On the first Big Hike, the Black Hawk Hiking Club traveled to Starved Rock, the Indiana Sand Dunes, and Michigan Avenue in Chicago.

The Black Hawk Hiking Club series, 1920-1939 and undated, consists of images of various hike activities, such as cooking over a campfire and making camp, and images of various locations from local and Big Hikes. Most notable are an image of the club's very first hike and its Big Hikes to the Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, Colorado and Mexico. Also included are several images depicting lyrics to the club's songs.
